First, a dancer.

A supporter of Vancouver Island’s rave and festival scene since 2016, SELAYNE began DJing in 2024 as a creative outlet and quickly fell in love with the craft.

She grew up surrounded by music. Her father, a musician and guitarist, shaped her early love of sound, while rock, punk, indie and folk formed the backdrop. Her first overnight camping music festival in 2016 opened the door to electronic music.

Always a dancer and music enthusiast first, she has explored dancefloors and musical styles across the West Coast. More than 12 years teaching ZUMBA also brought a deep connection to Latin and world rhythms.

Those influences come together in her work as a DJ and emerging producer: percussive elements, groove and soul, infused with melody and emotion. Expect funk, disco, baile funk, 140, UK garage and all things house, especially classic and deep house.

Her aim is to create a sonic storyline that mirrors the growth of a garden or the flow of a dance. That passion extends beyond her sets to event curation and bringing the music community together.
